The Entrepreneur in Contemporary Love Poetry

In every era, the entrepreneur in contemporary love poetry surfaces once again. In fact, it is his or her entrepreneurial spirit that keeps contemporary love poetry alive.

Can you imagine an era that did not give birth to any love poets or new love poetry? This is not likely, as the poetic voice has always found its forte in contemporary love poetry, ever since the beginning of time.

The entrepreneurial spirit identified in contemporary love poetry has also been in vogue in every era since time began. This is not simply a new phenomenon, something different that has suddenly appeared on the horizon of time, although it may not have been identified as such historically.

Perhaps love with its complexity, diversity and multiplicity of possible expression accounts for what may be referred to as the birth or continual rebirth of the entrepreneurial spirit in every era. But does death have to be factored in to every equation? No, it does not and love, by its very nature, never dies. It lives on, often only identifiable in the guise of different poetic expression.

The entrepreneurial, contemporary love poet continually strives in a positive, constructive direction towards pure, poetic utterance in his or her time. His or her words invariably have the power or potency of life, in conjunction with love

The true entrepreneurial, contemporary love poet is focused on love. While there may be a love of something material in his or her work, it is not materialism that lies at the heart of his or her poetic endeavor which would in fact seem meaningless on its own. In other words, materialism on its own cannot stand. 

The scope of entrepreneurial love poetry becomes increasingly boundless as the love poet exceeds borders and boundaries of previous poetry forms and structures. At times, the contemporary love poet may choose to stay within those realms, but the entrepreneurial spirit allows him or her the freedom of choice to stretch his or her poetic horizons beyond its limits.

True entrepreneurial freedom does not mean focusing on the blatant use of modern day vulgarity or obscene language or expression, as that is likely to be anything other than a pure expression of love. It is the spirit of love that leads the contemporary love poet in his or her entrepreneurial project. It is love that lives on, not the destructive work demonstrated by a negative power or principality. The contemporary love poet does not waste time or energy in that which is destined for destruction as literary progress moves forwards, not backwards. It is always onward and upward.

What awaits the true, entrepreneurial love poet in every era is success, measurable in many unexpected ways. For example, perhaps it is his or her poetic works that help to give birth to others. What greater legacy could a contemporary love poet wish for? 

His or her success may lie in recognition during the current era, or even throughout the course of history. Fame or fortune is not usually the question, although they both may be part of entrepreneurial success for any contemporary love poet.
